Certified Translations

Certified translation for individuals, solicitors, and official purposes.

Whether you need a birth certificate translated for an Irish visa application, a marriage certificate for a legal proceeding, or any other document for submission to an official body, I provide certified translations that meet the standards required by Irish authorities — including Immigration Service Delivery (ISD), the Irish government body responsible for immigration and naturalisation.

What is a certified translation?

What is a certified translation?

A certified translation is a translation accompanied by a signed statement from a qualified translator confirming that the translation is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge and ability. Many official bodies — including immigration authorities, courts, solicitors, and government departments — require documents to be submitted in this format.

Not all translators are qualified to provide certified translations. In Ireland, the principal professional body for this purpose is the Association of Translators & Interpreters Ireland (ATII). The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) is an internationally recognised equivalent body whose members are equally accepted by Irish authorities.

I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL No. 70130), and my certified translations are accepted by Immigration Service Delivery (ISD), the Courts Service, the HSE Civil Registration Service, Revenue Commissioners, QQI, and other official bodies in Ireland and the UK.

Who needs a certified translation?

Who needs a certified translation?

Individuals: You may need a certified translation if you are applying for an Irish visa, residence permit, or citizenship through Immigration Service Delivery (ISD); submitting foreign documents to an Irish government department or court; providing documents for a legal proceeding in Ireland; registering a foreign marriage, birth, or death in Ireland; or applying for recognition of foreign qualifications with QQI or another body.

Solicitors and law firms: I work with solicitors and law firms requiring certified translations of foreign-language documents on behalf of their clients — including immigration matters, probate, family law, and commercial proceedings. I am happy to discuss ongoing referral arrangements for firms with regular requirements.

How it works

How it works

1. Send me your document — Email a scan or photograph of your document to service@jpptranslation.com. I will confirm whether I can translate it and provide a quote based on length and complexity.

2. Receive your quote — I will respond promptly with a fixed price and an estimated turnaround time. Certified translations start from €45 per page.

3. Translation and certification — Once you confirm, I translate your document and attach a signed Certificate of Accuracy on headed paper, confirming the translation is accurate and complete. This is the format required by ISD and most official bodies in Ireland.

4. Delivery — Your certified translation is delivered as a secure PDF by email. If you require a physical copy with wet ink signature — which some authorities request — I can arrange this on request.
